Inspired Thoughts
There is something about an inspirational quote. You might know I collect them. Every now and then I like to relax, and review my collection. To me it’s like going through a jewelry box, wading through treasures. I can usually find just the right one for the occasion.
It’s a comforting thought that someone else has been in there too. I like the wisdom, hope and tenacity they provide. It’s been a while since I sent you a sample. So I thought I might make some categories and offer you a salve should you need one, (and we ALL need one every now and then.) Here are a few of my favorites, sit back and drink it in, share it, save it for later too!
Worthiness:
“Nothing has transformed my life more than realizing that it is a simple waste of time to evaluate my worthiness by weighing the reaction of the people in the stands.”-Brene Brown. READ THAT ONE AGAIN!
“Embrace the glorious mess that you are.”-Elizabeth Gilbert.
“Broken crayons still color.”-Shelley Hitz.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself exactly as I am, then I am able to change.”-Carl Rogers.
Courage:
“Take the first step in faith. You don't have to have the whole staircase, just take the first step.”-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“I want to be in the arena. I want to be brave in my life. And when we make the choice to dare greatly, we sign up to get our asses kicked. We can choose courage or we can choose comfort, but we cannot have both. Not at the same time. “-Brene Brown.
“If you are going through hell, keep going.”-Winston Churchill.
“Now every time I see a strong person I want to know: What darkness did you conquer in your story? Mountains do not rise without earthquakes.”-Katherine Mackennett.
Acceptance:
“I now see that by owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”-Brene Brown.
“You are so much more than the worst thing you have ever done.”-Fr. Gregory Boyle
“If you ever feel like you’re the only one who doesn’t have it figured out, listen close: Life is not tidy. Growth is not linear. We are all wanderers. We are all still figuring it out.”-Erica Layne
“Everyone has a chapter they don’t want to read aloud. Don’t let those pages write the rest of your story. Find the magic in them, and move on.”-Dani Dipirro.
Kindness:
“The connections we make in the course of a lifetime…maybe that’s what heaven is.”-Fred Rogers.
“The most powerful words in the universe are the words you say to yourself.”-Marie Forleo
“There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life more beautiful for others.”-Mandy Hale.
“Be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people.”-Karen Salmansohn.
Lies:
“Shame loves perfectionists. It’s so easy to keep us quiet.”-Brene Brown.
“A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it.”-Jean De La Fontaine.
“When you judge another you do not define them, you define yourself.”-Wayne Dyer.
“Worry pretends to be necessary, but serves no useful purpose.”-Eckhart Tolle
“A lie believed, will act as a law in our life until we bust it.”-Derek Rydall
“Not everything that weighs on you is yours to carry.”-Juansen Dizon.
Renewal:
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."-Victor Frankl.
Midlife: when the universe grabs your shoulders and tells you, “I’m not f-ing around, use the gifts you were given.”-Brene Brown.
“What’s wrong is always available, but so is what’s right.”-Tony Robbins
“The most profound thing we can offer our children is our own healing.”-Anne LaMott
“When you start to crack open, don’t waste a moment gathering your old self up into something like you knew before. Let your new self splash like sunlight into every dark place…and thank all that is holy for the gift.”- Brian Andreas.
And the best one:
”Sometimes you just have to say “YIKES” and move on.”-Unknown.
